Missions/Outreach Ministries
The mission directive of the Outreach Ministry at Joshua's Place is "reaching out" to the same people Jesus would, using the same ministry tools and approach the He would use. Jesus molded ministry for us.
Matthew 28:19-20 (The Message)
Jesus, undeterred, went right ahead and gave his charge: "God authorized and commanded me to commission you: Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Then instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you. I'll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age."
We can reach them through a variety of formats and then we share the freeing, liberating truths found in Gods' word that transforms peoples lives. Outreach is a ministry of love and compassion.
* Offer them the news of the gospel.
* Unlimited possibilities are at our disposal to reach out
* Teach them once you reach them.
* Relief and restoration comes to the troubled should as the needs of people are met.
* Encouragement is the experience.
* Affirmation comes as people realize they are valued, loved and accepted.
* Consistently meet the needs of people.
* Healing comes to a community on many levels when relevant outreach takes place.
Missions in India

Joshua's Place continually supports the missionary work of Covenant Fellowship International (CFI) Ministries-South Asia
in India. Pastor Mathew Kuruvilla, an native to India, was called to missionary work among his own people. At the center of CFI is Kuruvilla's driving passion to reach the hurting, lost, indigent, and incarcerated; the Unseen Victims of Society. This ministry has helped the poor children and the children of lepers in India for decades and continues to bring the hope of Jesus Christ to this land.
For CFI, The Vision is Simple…to see lives changed spiritually, socially and economically. CFI networks with Churches, Pastors/Leaders and supporters who believe that Rehabilitation, Restoration and Transformation are possible when people encounter God. Because we believe this is only possible through Kingdom expansion, the primary goal is starting churches among unchurched people groups.
The Need is Great…there are hundreds of thousands of villages and people in South Asia that have never heard the Good News of Jesus Christ. Additionally, a great deal of the population is plagued with poverty, poor health, and illiteracy.
The Work is Focused…on spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the region through strategic church planting and by offering help and hope to the broken and outcast.
Abandoned and Hurting Children

Joshua's Place supports the missionary work of
Bill Wilson - Metro World Ministries Center headquartered in New York City.
Abandoned As A Child
Pastor Bill Wilson experienced the pain and hopelessness of abandonment. One day, as he walked down a street with his mother, they stopped to sit for a while. She instructed him to sit there and wait for her to return. He sat and waited for three days straight. She never returned. A Christian gentleman who had seen Bill stranded and alone stopped and picked him up. It was here that Bill's relationship with God began.
Mission to Help Hurting Children
Out of the pain, impoverishment and isolation of his own abandonment, Bill developed a heart of compassion for suffering children everywhere. From the ghettos of America to the garbage dumps of Manila, Bill has sought to rescue hurting children.
Founding of Metro Ministries
Pastor Bill established Metro Ministries in 1980 in what was one of Brooklyn’s roughest neighborhoods, the Bushwick community, most commonly known for its history of gang violence, crime, drugs, and poverty.
Here, violence is a way of life and a constant threat. Pastor Bill has been beaten, stabbed and shot in the face. Yet, he perseveres and refuses to leave the area or give up on the children growing up in such an environment. Because of that, his efforts have made a difference, not only in the lives of children but in the community as well.

Today, Pastor Bill travels widely, speaking in churches nationally and internationally each week. He is frequently featured on Christian television networks throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe. His programs, curriculum and techniques are being duplicated in cities all over the world. However one thing remains the same. Every Saturday, Pastor Bill is there in the heart of the urban jungle in Brooklyn, driving the school bus to pick up boys and girls for Sunday School.
Samaritans Purse

Joshua's Place supports the missionary work of Samaritans Purse worldwide. Samaritan's Purse is a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Since 1970, Samaritan's Purse has helped meet needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine with the purpose of sharing God's love through His Son, Jesus Christ.
The story of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:30-37) gives a clear picture of God's desire for us to help those in desperate need wherever we find them. After describing how the Samaritan rescued a hurting man whom others had passed by, Jesus told His hearers, "Go and do likewise."
For over 35 years, Samaritan's Purse has done the utmost to follow Christ's command by going to the aid of the world's poor, sick, and suffering. Samaritans Purse is an effective means of reaching hurting people in countries around the world with food, medicine, and other assistance in the Name of Jesus Christ. This, in turn, earns a hearing for the Gospel, the Good News of eternal life through Jesus Christ.
